ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA – A joint press conference was held to mark World Milk Day 2024, organized by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Dairy Asia Secretariat Office, the Mongolian Food Industry Association (including the Mongolian Milk Council), the Mongolian Dairy Farmer’s Association, and the Mongolian Dairy Board.
The event featured addresses from key stakeholders in the national and regional dairy sector, including:
Mr. B. Batbaatar, CEO & Coordinator, Dairy Asia
Mr. D. Dovchinsuren, Dairy Asia’s Focal Point in Mongolia and Director General of the Food Production Policy Implementation and Coordination Department
Mr. B. Gantulga, Head of the Mongolian Milk Council
Mr. B. Munkhtamir, Executive Director of the Mongolian Dairy Board
Mr. M. Battulga, Marketing Director of APU Dairy
In his remarks, Mr. B. Batbaatar underscored the significance of World Milk Day in raising public awareness of milk production and consumption. He provided an overview of Dairy Asia’s ongoing activities and strategic direction. Furthermore, he extended gratitude to the Government of Mongolia for its sustained support of various Dairy Asia initiatives. These include the promotion of Asian Milk Week and the World Milk Day “Milk Walk Parade,” as well as the establishment of the World Yak Association, the World Bactrian Camel Association hosted by Mongolia, and the national camel milk cluster.
