A Tripartite MoU signed

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. On 25 June 2026, the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC), the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations (IISNC) under the auspieces of UNESCO, and the Dairy Asia Secretariat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for institutional cooperation.

Established in Ulaanbaatar through Mongolia’s initiative, active engagement, sustained leadership, and commitment to international cooperation, these three international partners play complementary roles in advancing research, policy dialogue, sustainable development, and regional collaboration.

…..The Parties shall jointly contribute to the formulation and implementation of strategies aimed at ensuring the sustainable social, cultural, environmental, and economic development of Mongolia, as well as to the fulfillment of the objectives of the Awaza Programme of Action for Landlocked Developing Countries.

The Parties shall actively promote their respective visions, strategic goals, and operational activities among their member states and stakeholders. They shall facilitate the systematic exchange of cutting-edge knowledge, technical data, innovative practices, and policy experiences, and shall endeavor to enhance mutual participation in each other’s programs and events.

The Parties shall provide mutual assistance in broadening their respective memberships. Where a member state of one Party is not yet a member of another Party, the Party with which that state maintains membership shall extend an invitation for such state to accede to the other Party, with the full endorsement and support of all Parties.

The Parties shall support research, development, and innovation aimed at creating culturally significant, high-value-added “brand” products derived from Mongolia’s nomadic heritage and traditional pastoral animal husbandry. They shall also provide advisory inputs on trade, transport, and logistics policies to facilitate the export of such products.

The Parties shall promote, preserve, and disseminate Mongolia’s nomadic civilization, pastoral livestock practices, and traditional knowledge and expertise in the dairy sector.

The Parties shall jointly support and advocate the initiative, proposed by Dairy Asia, to establish the World Yak Association and the World Bactrian Camel Association in Ulaanbaatar. They shall further foster cooperation among landlocked countries and nations possessing yak and Bactrian camel populations, and shall collaborate in conserving the tangible and intangible cultural heritage associated with these species.

Should Mongolia host major international events, the Parties shall actively coordinate their participation and jointly contribute to the successful conduct of such events. In light of Mongolia’s transition to the status of an upper-middle-income country, the Parties shall actively cooperate in the implementation of technical assistance programs and targeted development projects in other countries, as and when undertaken by Mongolia…….
