Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – The inaugural Board meeting of the “Mongolian Camel Milk Cluster,” an initiative established under Dairy Asia and its knowledge partners in Mongolia, was convened on January 22, 2025. The agenda encompassed key strategic items, including the Cluster’s organizational structure, its action plan for the 2025 fiscal year, and the progression of a draft Codex standard for camel milk.
The meeting featured a briefing from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, delivered by Mr.Dovchinsuren D, Director General of the Food Production Policy Implementation and Coordination Department, and Ms. Otgonjargal D, Senior Officer for the Dairy Industry. They presented an overview of the Government’s policy and ongoing initiatives to develop the camel milk sector. A significant highlight was the introduction of a ministerial working group, established in December 2024, which is tasked with formulating international standards for sea-berry and camel milk products.
The Board expressed its strong support for a collaborative partnership between the newly formed working group and the Cluster, endorsing a framework for future cooperative endeavors.
