GASL Hosts Webinar in Observance of the International Year of Camelids

The Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL) held a webinar on May 27, 2025, in observance of the International Year of Camelids.

Mr. Batbaatar Bayarmagnai, CEO and Coordinator of Dairy Asia, participated as a speaker, presenting an overview of Dairy Asia’s activities for the International Year of Camelids. His presentation shared key outcomes and lessons learned from these initiatives. Mr. Bayarmagnai also contributed to the subsequent panel discussion.

The webinar discussions emphasized the multifaceted role of camelids in sustainable development. Key points highlighted their environmental benefits, including a low ecological footprint and high adaptability to climate change. Furthermore, the discourse covered their significant contributions to nutrition, public health, and rural livelihoods, with a focus on ethical production, animal health and welfare, and strengthening value chains.
