Dairy Asia Participates in the Third Regional Meeting of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock

ANTALYA, TURKEY – The third regional meeting for Europe and Central Asia of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock (GASL) was convened in Antalya, Turkey, from October 10-12, 2023. The event gathered over 30 participants from 14 countries across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Mr. Batbaatar Bayarmagnai, CEO and Coordinator of Dairy Asia, attended the meeting. In a joint presentation with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia and the National Federation of Mongolian Pasture Users Groups, he introduced initiatives proposed during the Dairy Asia dialogue. These initiatives concern the establishment of a World Yak Association and a World Bactrian Camel Association, to be headquartered in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The regional meeting served as a valuable platform to initiate cooperation between Dairy Asia and the countries of Central Asia, where unique yak and camel husbandry systems are well-established.
