Consultative meeting

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – The first consultative meeting of international organizations based in Ulaanbaatar was successfully convened on October 10, 2025. This initiative, led and supported by the Government of Mongolia, was held at the United Nations building in Ulaanbaatar and marked a significant step towards enhanced collaboration.

The meeting was attended by high-level officials, including a Member of Parliament and the Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister. Representatives were also present from key Mongolian ministries and agencies, namely: Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Economy and Development, National Commission of Mongolia for UNESCO, Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia, SME Agency of Mongolia, Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mongolian Food Industrial Association.

The following international organizations delivered reports and presentations on their respective areas of activity, shared experiences, and outlined prospects for future cooperation:

  • International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC)— Executive Director, D. Dulguun
  • International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Culture (IISNC)— Director, Ch. Munkhtuul
  • Dairy Asia Secretariat— Coordinator & CEO, B. Batbaatar
  • Asian Buddhists Conference for Peace (ABCP)— Secretary General, H. Byambajargal

A notable presentation was delivered by Mr. B. Batbaatar of the Dairy Asia Secretariat, who detailed the organization’s current activities and key initiatives. These included the establishment of the World Yak Association and the World Bactrian Camel Association, as well as the observance of Asian Milk Week. He also emphasized potential avenues for cooperation with knowledge partners within Mongolia.

The session facilitated productive discussions on pressing regional challenges, future collaboration possibilities, and Mongolia’s role in the policy environment, as well as cooperation and partnership. Participants exchanged valuable insights, establishing this meeting as a foundational event for deepened cooperation.

All attending organizations agreed to expand the scope of their collaborative efforts and to provide mutual support for joint projects and initiatives. This meeting is widely regarded as a significant milestone in strengthening the network and active partnership among international organizations based in Mongolia.
